Modulin is a highly customizable synthesizer designed to cater to individual expression with a diverse range of visual feedback. Featuring vibrant colored strings that not only enhance visual appeal but also facilitate seamless modulation of Modulin's LFO, this synthesizer replicates the vibrato effect commonly found in orchestral and choral settings. Users can choose from four different wave types - Sinuous, Triangle, Sawtooth, and Square - and adjust a wide range of frequency settings for the LFO. The oscillator, which can also be set to these four waveforms, allows control of pitch through the strings and a tuning knob. Additionally, a simple low-pass filter enables the removal of unwanted frequencies. The glide rate knob accentuates the portamento effect, providing versatility in sound replication. A centrally located slider on the effects view unveils various effects and additional sound generators including reverb, delay, chorus, and a dedicated white noise module. Modulin emulates paraphonic capability by incorporating a second VCO that can be multiplied to create an interval of up to 2 octaves. Beneath the knobs, an ADSR control offers manipulation of attack, decay, sustain, and release attributes for customized sound creation.
 
Modulin serves as a comprehensive tool for nurturing musical creativity by facilitating recording and storage of compositions. Users can easily lay down beats, overwrite them with intricate melodies using the record button, and manage tracks with the tracks button. For beginners in synthesis, Modulin features an explore section that educates users on each component of an analog synthesizer along with signal flow diagrams.
 
For more experienced musicians, Modulin offers advanced features such as root note adjustments, octave control, and scale customization alongside the option to disable note names for enhanced memorization. With over 40 presets available and the ability to create personalized sounds or share them effortlessly, users are guaranteed access to a vast array of unique tones to explore.
 
Enhancing user experience further, Modulin accommodates external MIDI keyboards for flexible playability and allows MIDI CC mapping for seamless integration. By providing options for custom color schemes and pressure sensitivity settings, users can enhance personalization and artistic expression within the synthesizer interface.
